Varanida has a more pragmatic approach than simply "blocking all ads". Instead, we are trying to solve three different problems for three different groups:
- Users: Your data is safe, and we're not selling it. Our goal is to reward users who take charge of choosing what data they're willing to share, and which publishers they're willing to share it with. In addition, everything is opt-in, so once our blockchain-powered ad network is running, you can decide who you want to support, by allowing certain ads on certain websites.
- Publishers: Publishers have to deal with middlemen like Google, Facebook, and other ad networks that take up to 60-70% of the advertiser’s original budget, leaving publishers with the remaining 30-40%. By building our network on the blockchain, we remove the middlemen and allow publishers to make more money from advertisers, which makes the publishing industry more sustainable for them, and hopefully keeps your favorite websites around longer.
- Advertisers: Thanks to the benefits of the blockchain, Varanida will help eliminate fraud for advertisers, so their budgets go towards compensating publishers for showing quality ads to their target audience, instead of the pockets of clever fraudsters that make billions by tricking ad networks into paying for ads that never get seen by real people.
Finally, some ad blocking extensions like Adblock Plus actually get paid by advertisers to keep their ads from being blocked, which just turns them into another middleman that’s taking part of the advertising budget.
All of this can be summed up as follows: Varanida is trying to create a better relationship between Users, Publishers, and Advertisers, and enable a healthier ecosystem for everyone. We've been in the digital marketing and advertising space for many years, and this gives our team a unique understanding of these challenges and how to build a new type of solution.
